Adult Leader Training

The knowledge and confidence of a trained leader is quickly sensed by the youth you work with. The resources you need to become a trained leader are here on this site.

An important priority for all Scouting Units - Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams and Venturing Crews - is ensuring that every leader is fully trained for their position as required by the Boy Scouts of America.

Without exception, Units with trained leaders are more successful recruiting and retaining the young people whom are the focus of our movement.

A few important and often unknown notes:

  • All Units are encouraged to have a "Unit Trainer" who is responsible for monitor the training status of all registered leaders and communicating updates to their District Training Chair.
  • Every District has a group of volunteers, the District Training Committee, who are focused on helping all leaders to complete training. Click here to contact your District Training Chair
  • is an adult leader’s one-stop shop for all position specific training resources.

Feedback, questions or ideas about the resources on the Bay-Lakes Council Training Website are always welcome and can be directed to either your District Training Chair or the Council Training Committee.
