Tell Us About Your Community Service Work

Doing a Good Turn Daily is the hallmark of Scouting. Help us spread the good news about what your Unit is doing to provide invaluable support to other community organizations. We want to make it simple to track our impact providing community service throughout the Council.

You can still log your hours at https://servicehours.scouting.org/UI/Security/Login.aspx with your username and password if you like; however we have made it even easier!

Using this, Service Hour Report link, you can complete the simple form with your Unit number, date and name of the project, # of youth and adults participating, and the total hours. It's that simple and will help Scouting in Bay-Lakes Council be better recognized for our work throughout the area.

Thank you in advance for your commitment to teaching the importance of service to others and demostrating the Scout Slogan - Do A Good Turn Daily.

Imagine 2024 Update

The Council continues to move forward with implementation of its 10-year strategic plan, called “Imagine 2024”, that was launched in October of 2014. Details of how the plan came to be and the Councils vision for the next 10 years can be seen by visiting www.baylakesbsa.org/imagine2024. We would encourage you to take the time to watch the videos including the Plan Introduction and Town Hall Meeting.

The next phase in the process is the development of a master site plan at each camp facility as well as the refinement of existing programs and the development of new ones in the areas of barrels (shooting sports), Wheels/Tracks (ATV/Snowmobile), COPE/Climbing, Water Sports, Extreme Sports, STEM, and Trails. These programs will eventually be mapped to specific camps in order to provide a diverse and exciting program at each of our facilities.

Volunteer committees have been formed for each camp and program area listed above. They will be meeting over the course of the next 6-8 months reviewing existing buildings, infrastructure, program areas, campsites, as well as researching new programs. Once the committees have completed their work, all of the data will be rolled into a master plan for each camp that will help fulfill and give detailed direction to Imagine 2024.

Please visit the website for details and updates. To ask questions or provide feedback send us an e-mail at  imagine2024@scouting.org.

What do I need to do to be considered a "Trained Leader?"

Every Scout deserves a trained Leader. The Bay-Lakes Council has made leader training a priority, to keep Scouting safe and our programs strong. Our target is 100% trained leaders. What does that mean? There is a vast amount of on line training available to volunteers and it sometimes it is difficult to know what is required training versus what is recommended or helpful training. Click here for the training matrix and more information.
